Another story with Facebook

This below is a true story how technology changed human perspectives

Indonesian being addicted to something! It’s techy, it’s universal and its called facebook. There I go, to the biggest local book store in town (Gramedia-Matraman on Jakarta), desperately looking new manga (Japanese comic that has been translated to Indonesian), look what I found!!! Several, na’ah, I would say its much tutorial for facebook.

As the Blackberry become the most wanted commodity in Indonesian (Jakarta especially), the need for being member of facebook also becoming a must thing to do. The elder society (this especially refers to my parents and lecturer-generations, which mostly computer illiterate), the one who says that technology is only for youngsters, now compete to be the first who uploaded their pictures, or commented on somebody’s wall.

You don’t need to spend your time to go to hospital to visit your sick friend. Just browse their page, and commented their status. He or she may write something like, “at hospital, having a week of bed rest”. Simple sentences that mean the one who write it desperately need attention from all friends in the list. Another case is you send a greeting card to a friend who “just married” without attending the wedding party.
Thanks to technology that closed the distance. The impact is slowly but sure risen up lately. Privacy as the celebrity used to say in infotainment program, is known as a big priced. Imagine a world without privacy! Everybody knows what you do in the past, present and maybe future!

Autism maybe a popular words to say today. It sounds sarcastic and refers to them who addicted to facebook but did not taking much attention to their surroundings. It’s rude and impolite, but I still do not know how to illustrate laterally on addicted to facebook as well as messenger, online-gaming and so on.

Welcome to reality : "technology makes the one who is far become closer and makes the close one becoming far"
